Network access control can be implemented in various ways and involve multiple checks, including user verification, endpoint device verification, membership verification in directory services (e.g., Microsoft Active Directory), and endpoint device health checks (e.g., the presence of local antivirus, OS patch status, and so on).
Based on the checks, a policy can be determined and applied, which can either grant full network access, provide limited access (e.g., only internet access), or completely deny network access.
